Homemade Cleaning Supplies

I just ran out of my Costco fabric softener, so I thought I would make my own with vinegar (the ingredient that cleans everything).

A few years ago, The Simple Dollar posted an article on a bunch of substitutions that can save money around the house, so I have been gradually incorporating some of them into practice.

Homemade Fabric Softener Recipe from Food.com:
1 cup baking soda
6 cups distilled white vinegar
8 cups water
10 drops of Calm Water oil (the Body Shop)

Mix together in the old Costco sized jug. The hard part was mixing everything together without it overflowing like the good old volcano projects in elementary school. It smelled nice, so we will see how the laundry turns out. :)

***********
She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.
She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar.
She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens.
She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night.
She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
